Medical Assistant Program:
When you graduate as a medical assistant, you will work under the direct supervision and control of a doctor and/or registered nurse.
When you graduate as a medical assistant, you will work under the direct supervision and control of a doctor and/or registered nurse to perform the following duties:
- Arrange hospital admission
- Explain treatment procedures to patients
- Front office responsibilities such as bookkeeping
- Perform basic lab tests
- Prepare laboratory specimens
- Maintain equipment and prepare patients for radiography tests
- Prepare patients for examinations
- Schedule appointments
- Sterilize medical instruments and sterilize office exam rooms and much more
The program:
Prepares the student to work in various settings including front and back office.
Admissions Requirements:
- Pass an entrance exam
- High school diploma or GED required
- GED program available to all students
Location:
Classes are held at the Colton and Victorville campuses. Clinical rotations are held in selected hospitals and agencies in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties according to subjects being studied.
