APPLYING FOR MILITARY TUITION ASSISTANCE AT FOUR-D COLLEGE
We proudly accept Veterans Affairs educational benefits including Chapters 30, 31 (Vocational Rehabilitation), 32, 35, 1606, and 1607. Additionally, Four-D College will be approved for Chapter 33 as of 10/01/2011. Please contact the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs at (888)442-4551 for all questions relating to your specific benefit, payment, and eligibility.
The Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA) Program
Education benefits are available to dependents or spouses of certain veterans. A son or daughter needs to be between the ages of 18 and 26 to qualify for their DEA benefits. If you are a spouse of a veteran who died while on active duty, your benefits will end 20 years from the date of death. To qualify you must be the daughter, son or spouse of:
- A veteran who died or is totally disabled as a result of a service-connected disability.
- A service member missing in action or captured in the line of duty by a hostile force.
- A service member who is hospitalized or receiving outpatient treatment for permanent and total disability.
Tuition Assistance Top-Up Benefits
In order to be eligible for Top-Up Benefits, you must already have been approved to receive federal tuition assistance. Prior to October 30, 2000, you were not able to combine your VA benefits with the Montgomery GI Bill, and the military would only pay 75 percent of your total tuition using tuition assistance. If the military cannot cover 100 percent of your tuition, you can elect to receive your TA benefits for all or part of your remaining tuition expenses. The program was designed to supplement other tuition assistance programs you already have qualified for if they do not cover 100 percent of your tuition costs. Contact your Enrollment Advisor at Four-D College to learn more.
